Question:
Finding sheet music for a jazz quintet.?

I recently started a jazz quintet consisting of trumpet, tenor, contrabass, percussion and piano but I have not been able to find sheet music online for free, though I didn't really expect to. Any tips for finding cheap books with a lot of good jazz pieces or even how to write our own stuff?

Get yourself some real books!

The real book is a collection of standards - it is the quintessential source for jazz standards.

Or you could do it the way the old school guys did it - listen to records, and transcribe the parts! It's time consuming but there is no better way to learn any sort of music than by with your ears.

One of the best sites for learning piano online is https://tr.im/PianoLessons

This is one of those rare sites that offers the most detailed, expert piano lessons for absolutely free. Just reading through the lessons, you get the sense that you’re sitting beside an actual piano teacher who really knows their stuff. Each session includes text, keyboard images to help you visualize what the teacher is talking about
