is there perhaps a famous amp model just as there's a famous guitar model (the Gibson ES-175)?

Jazz players are usually looking for a good clean sound
so Fenders have been their mainstay for years,
Twin,
Super Rev
some of the Polytone amps, have been popular,
the Roland Chorus amps
the fusion crowd likes to mix it up more, so they will use whatever works
(like most of us do)

Fender amps are just perfect to get you that nice warm jazz tone. You could also try out Roland or any other type of amp with a clear clean tone. It also really depends on the kind of jazz music that you might want to play =)
Just try going to a local music store and test the amps to see which one suits you best.
Oh, by the way, If you really want the tone to be perfect, you've got to put in some jazz pickups =)

Roland Jazz Chorus amps have been the standard for many years now. But basically any amp with lots of clean headroom and lots of mids in the tone. Fender Twins are one of the big ones too.

I know Tube Amps are big for jazz players, Fender makes some fantastic tube amps... I'm not sure of an exact model that is extremely popular, but I'm sure that most of them, especially the Deluxe Hot Rod, or the Blues Jr., they both have fantastic tone.
