Type of music played on "The Sims"?

Can someone tell me the exact genere of the music played on the game, the Sims? I believe that it is jazz but without the vocals, but jazz alone has so many sub-divisions.

It is a kind of jazz. A local radio station round here calls it mainstream jazz. Go to itunes and look up a man called Dave Brubeck. he will open up suggestions to similar artist like him and you should find what your looking for.
